Feast on our Food Gardens
Below are some images of the food gardens we've installed. Follow the links to read all about the transformations.
Adrian and Lesley's food garden at Magill, Adelaide
Lesley had done her homework and researched Vital Veggies and the services we offer. She and
Adrian have a lovely house in Magill but their back yard had been neglected for a long time and
they needed some help to reinvigorate it. Read about it here
Tony and Nicole's food forest at Skye
Imagine a large house on a ridgetop in Skye. The back yard drops steeply down into a deep bush
covered valley which has been cut out to make 3 terraced areas joined by steep steps. Tony and
Nicole have asked Vital Veggies to install veggie gardens, berry gardens, fruit trees and herb
gardens on each of the terraces - enough to feed their family of four. Read about it here...
Rod and Anna's vegetable garden at Magill, Adelaide
The position of the veggie garden had to be carefully considered to take into account their desire to
keep a central open lawn space while optimising the limited light getting through the leafy
canopies. Read about it here...
Kym and Sharon's chook run at Woodside
When Sharon and Kym asked us to renovate the area by their back fence for the chickens to roam
in we designed a system which easily rotates the chickens' grazing areas so that each area is
given time to recover and be replenished with green chook food. Read about it here...
Sharon's food forest at Highgate
Growing food vertically and using fences is a clever use of space, so we added another trellis along the back
fence and planted a row of grape vines. Read about it here
Dean and Melanie's food forest at Stonyfell, Adelaide
We installed 8 large eco-wood raised garden beds and renovated some existing garden areas,
planted a fruit orchard with 20 different trees, installed a berry garden, a water garden, a
chook house and 4 compost areas. Read about it here...
Ken and Macky's food garden at Stonyfell, South Australia
Ken and Macky live across the road from Dean and Melanie in Stonyfell.
They'd been watching and admiring the backyard transformation going on at their
neighbour's house and decided they needed a little bit of help to get their own veggie garden happening. Read about it here...
Nathan's permaculture foundations at Vale Park
It’s not often we get to design and set up a garden from scratch, especially one where
Permaculture design principles are specifically requested. Read about it here
